Jovi Lee Yi-shan
is an independent filmmaker from Taiwan. She graduated from National Taiwan University of Arts with a MFA degree in Media Studies. Her work Babes' Not Alone (2017) was awarded the Best Live Action Short Film at the 54th Golden Horse Awards, along with other film awards in Taiwan. The film screened at several international film festivals, including IFFR (NL), OAFF (JP), and Reel Asian (CA).

She has written, directed and produced several short films, ranging from investigative documentary to poetic fiction. Her work explores women's situation and strength in the patriarchal society through personal stories. She focuses on the tension between the individual and the collective, articulating forgotten or disregarded elements in our mundane daily lives and interweaving them into powerful storytelling. Besides her film projects, she is an assistant professor at universities for filmmaking, and a lauded film editor who won the Best Film Editing at the 49th Golden Bell Awards in 2014.

Sisters' Busy Hands (2020) was nominated for Best Live Action Short Film with its world premiere at 57th Golden Horse Film Festival. It gained local praise for its subtlety and originality. She is currently working on her first feature project.
